Gimme Shelter Doggy Daycare and Kennel Logo

danielaacas Fine Art October 31, 2018 1 Minute

Geddit? Gimme Shelter? A long tongue? It’s an homage to the iconic Rolling Stones logo! The iconic lips were designed by John Pasche, a graphic designer from England, way back in the 1970s. Pasche would go on to design artwork for a ton of other bands like Jimi Hendrix, the Who, and David Bowie.
I learned a lot from designing this piece. Being mostly self-taught I often look up techniques for Adobe products, and this piece in particular involved a lot of research! I think that, most importantly, this piece is easily recognizable as a dog snout (which is extremely important) and that maybe the name and image together do harken back to Pasche’s original design (personally important, but not crucial). As a designer who often uses flat imagery it can be hard sometimes to get the right details in place that make a piece easy to understand and also still recognizable as a particular style. All in all, I think this is a pretty good doggo.

If you’re interested in using this design for personal use or otherwise, please contact me.
